Design

I am close to finishing up my studies in Graphic Design. I am currently putting together my portfolio and preparing myself for a job search. I might have to change the name of this blog to reflect all my artistic loves and endeavors.....

I have designed a line of Hudson greeting cards. These cards feature iconic Hudson landmarks such as our beloved clock tower, the gazebo, the Boy Scout Cabin, and Turners Mill... They are available for purchase at Epiphany (on First St. in Hudson) . I will be selling them along with Hudson magnets, Hudson wine glass charms, Hudson Christmas ornaments and my recycled jewelry... Stop by and say Hi! I will be hosting a "trunk Show" in front of the store during the Taste of Hudson on Sun. and Mon.....

Silver fork necklace

These pendants are crafted from vintage and antique sterling silver forks. I cut, bend and shape the forks into twisted shapes. The tines of the forks remind me of octopus tentacles. I attach all kinds of beach treasure to them, such as beach glass, shells, pearls, sharks teeth, and starfish. At a art show last summer, one of my customers suggested I call them mermaid treasure.....What do you think?

recycle pop can jewelry

I am making a conscious decision to become more ecologically aware... This decision has led me to explore ways to create jewelry with recycled objects. I have been doing a lot of creative experimenting with different mediums (trash). I think that my most successful designs are the above pictured recycled soda can rings, ear rings and necklaces. This line is made from recycled pop and energy drink cans that are cut into flower shapes and wired together with a few glass bead embellishments. The pieces are light weight and whimsical with a nod to the enviroment. I am still trying to come up with a snappy name for this line. Any suggestions?

It has been a while since I last updated this blog. I am currently in school studying graphic design. I have one more semester left to complete. I still enjoy designing and creating jewelry in my spare time. It' just that I have had a lot less of it (spare time) lately. I would like to take a moment to share some of my newest creations....

These necklaces are created with stones that were collected on a beach in Florida. I love their organic shapes holes and all.... Some of the necklaces I embellish with silver wire and small stones and pearls. The look is very natural and organic.
